May Meeting Registration
The Benjamin Franklin Chapter proudly announces that we will feature two presenters this month.
Roland Gutzky from MET Labs will present on NFPA 790 & 791. The NEC allows Field Evaluation Bodies (FEBs) to conduct field evaluations of uncertified, altered, or reconditioned products. NFPA 790, the Standard for Competency of Third-Party Field Evaluation Bodies, and NFPA 791, the Recommended Practice and Procedures for Unlabeled Electrical Equipment Evaluation, provide the guidelines for certifying a third-party agency and the procedures used to evaluate equipment in the field. Roland will explain how our industry can use these FEBs to ensure safe installations.
Next, we'll hear from Robert Parissi, Chief Electrical Inspector, City of Philadelphia. Bob will provide a slideshow detailing the most common violations encountered in the field during permit audits by the City of Philadelphia. These are code catastrophes in pictures! DO NOT MISS THIS!
Mr. Gutzky, based in Houston, TX, is the Sales Manager for Field Services for MET Labs (Eurofins Scientific). He has an associate's degree in electronic technology. Roland has worked in the Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) industry for 14 years, including two years as the MET Labs European Business Development Manager. Bob is a BFC board member, a master electrician in three states, and a certified electrical inspector and plans examiner. Our sponsor, Billows, will provide an industry update. All attendees who register will receive an emailed CEU certificate.
